About Katy Cordell

Katy has an Associate's of Arts degree from MCC. She is a professional doula, childbirth educator, and placenta specialist and founded one of the first doula agencies in Central Texas which is dedicated to supporting families from conception through the first postpartum year. Katy teaches childbirth, breastfeeding, and infant care classes in her community and she is an accredited breastfeeding counselor, working one-on-one with new mothers to help them meet their children's nutritive, emotional, developmental, and physical needs. Katy is in her 12th year of homeschooling and is huge proponent of parental rights and home education freedom. Not only is she passionate about caring for families in birth and in the early developmental years, but her encouragement and advocacy finds another outlet in supporting young homeschooling mothers as well. She founded the first homeschooling coop in Gatesville and lives there with her husband and five children. Health science and math are favorite subjects.
