Class Description:
This amazing curriculum walks students through the establishment of a strong worldview amidst a world of both subtle and confusing messages that surround them daily. It will challenge them to examine and “own” truths that will set the foundation for the success Christ desires in their hearts and minds.

The Lightbearers curriculum is designed, first, to help students see the big picture. Their worldview determines (consciously or unconsciously) how they interpret and respond to everything in life.

A second purpose of this course is to show how the Bible provides answers to all of life’s most important questions. By understanding God’s total plan, students will develop a worldview that influences everything they do.

A third goal of this curriculum is to open students eyes to the fact that ideas have consequences. Good ideas have positive consequences, and bad ideas have negative consequences. They will begin to see that there is an ongoing battle in our society over which ideas will dominate.

The main point is this: those who understand how to think well about life will have the opportunity to influence the ideas that rule the world. In fact, in the Bible we are told the story of one small tribe in Israel that was chosen to lead the nation because they “understood the times, and knew what Israel ought to do” (1 Chronicles 12:32, NIV). It is the hope that through this course the student will also gain a better understanding of the times in which we live, so that they will know what God would have them do.

It should be mentioned that worldview study can include some difficult and even personal topics. Please know that especially fragile topics will not be covered in this class. I will leave that to you as parents. If you would like more information on how to teach your children about these issues, please let me know and I will get that to you.

The student workbook is newly revised and contains fill-in-the-blank notes, as well as readings on various topics to help the student gain a deeper grasp of worldview thinking and application. The manual provides each student with a complete set of notes and outlines for various assignments, discussion, and test reviews.
