Class Descriptions

Teachers may submit class descriptions for the 2024-2025 school year beginning January 21, 2024. Deadline for submission is midnight on March 1, 2024.

Thank you for submitting a class idea to Brazos Valley Co-op! Your ideas are what make our co-op so unique. Please review our handbook carefully so that you understand our policies and procedures before submitting your class description form. The BVC committee prayerfully places as many classes as possible on our schedule. Please note the following as you apply for a teaching position at BVC:

  • Please be flexible on grades/age ranges. We will try to honor your top choice but might need to make some changes according to the needs of our schedule and student demographics.
  • If your class is accepted, you will be required to consent to a background check. This is required for current and new teachers.
  • Consider class minimums and maximums very carefully. Please see handbook for further details.
  • If BVC chooses to cancel your class at any time, you will not owe any fee, but you will need to refund all monies to the registered families.
  • If you are submitting a class that was on the schedule this year (or in recent years), you might want to consider submitting different ideas, as well.

Please help us expedite updating our classes by submitting the class information in the proper format.

IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL SHOWING YOUR SUBMISSION, PLEASE CONTACT US ASAP.

  • If you answer yes, please include what the prerequisite is.
  • Tell us about your class.
  • Please include a short bio of your experience, education or any qualifications you want to share with our parents.
  • Because of late cancellation of classes in the past and abandoning classes mid-year, we must impose a financial penalty to help alleviate this problem. When a teacher cancels his/her class after it has met its minimum number of students (or leaves mid-year for any reason), it causes great hardship on the committee to relocate students or find a new teacher for that class. It also causes hardship on families who have made curriculum decisions based on registering for a certain class. Please take your commitment to teach at BVC very seriously before we offer your class to the public.

If my class makes the final schedule for 2024 - 2025, I commit to leave my class open for student registrations through the Parent Meeting and registration on August 23, 2024, at 6:00 pm, whether or not it has met its minimum. If it has not met its minimum number of students at that time, I am free to withdraw my class from the schedule without penalty.

I agree to attend the orientation and teacher meeting on August 23, 2024, as part of my commitment as a teacher. If I choose to cancel my class, or if I resign from teaching my class for any reason at anytime before August 23 at 6:00 pm or anytime after it has met its minimum, I agree to pay Brazos Valley Co-op a fee in the amount of $150 per canceled or abandoned class. I understand that I will also refund all class deposits and supply fees.

This includes resigning from teaching the class at any point during the year. If BVC cancels my class for any reason, I will not owe the fee, but I will return all class deposits and supply fees to the registered families.

  • We believe the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. We believe in one infinite, true God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Having lived without sin, He truly died and was resurrected in His own body for our atonement and resurrection.

We believe that only through His death, by the shedding of His blood, and His resurrection are we provided justification and salvation.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind; for the believer to an everlasting dwelling with God, for the unbeliever to an everlasting, conscious hell without God.

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.

We believe that God created mankind in His image: male (man) and female (woman).

We believe God has ordained and created marriage to exist between one man and one woman, with absolute marital fidelity. The Bible sets forth specific home and family values, which include the distinct roles of husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, and children. It is our firm conviction that we uphold the dignity of each individual as we embrace the unchanging and longstanding principles of scriptural truth.

We believe in the imminent, bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Note: All co-op teachers and families are required to sign this statement of faith.
