Class Description: This class will dig deep and explore many types of poetry. We will learn poetry terminology as we read both short and long poems written by the famous poets of the world including Shakespeare, Chaucer, Kipling, Frost, Neruda, Coleridge, and many more. We will learn how to explicate a poem and find the meaning as well as learn to write intellectually about a piece of literature. Lastly, we will use our knowledge of various poetic conventions to write some of our own poetry. This class will increase your knowledge of literature, great writers, and advanced poetry.

This is a great preparatory class for college literature classes and learning to write ABOUT a piece of literature.
