Sweets are yummy to eat, but they can also be beautiful to look at! In this class we will be learning a range of techniques to decorate pastries. We will practice writing with icing in a piping bag, learn what different piping tips do and how to use them, learn how to use food coloring to paint on iced cookies, and different methods for decorating with melted chocolate among many other things. We will practice on laminated paper, cookies, cupcakes, and dummy cakes. Our big project in the fall will be a gingerbread house using the techniques learned up to that point. Our big project in the spring will be decorating a dummy cake. This will be an extra sweet class that should serve students the rest of their lives!
