Class Description:
Come learn to dance and glorify the Kingdom of God! This praise dance class is designed to teach students creative movement, locomotor skills and rhythms through the fun dance styles of ballet, jazz, and hip hop. The goal is to teach students how to worship God through dance while developing the student’s creativity and love of dance, along with the appropriate basic technique and body awareness skills. We will focus each class on Disney Princesses or a Princess (or Queen) of the Bible and the qualities they possess and also incorporate age appropriate devotionals. Students will learn how to praise God through fun dance routines and have fun by learning the qualities of a Daughter or the Son of the King! All classes will use age appropriate Christian or Princess music. Students are encouraged to wear dance clothes or comfortable clothes they can move in and bring socks, ballet or jazz shoes, and tennis shoes. “Let us praise His name with dancing!” Psalm 149:3

About Amanda McKethan

I have taught at BVC for 6 years, I have a degree in Elementary Education from Baylor University. I am the Studio Manager at Joy’s School of Dance where I have taught dance for 14 years. I am very involved at Harris Creek Baptist Church, where I am a member, a lifegroup leader, and also volunteer in the children’s ministry. I am also a founder of a dance ministry, Miriam’s Army, that partners with Restoration Haven Ministries in East Waco, where girls are encouraged to know their worth, be empowered and praise God through dance. God, dancing, and kids are my absolute favorite things. I love being able to share my passion with young people!
