Joyce Blackshear

My name is Joyce Blackshear. My husband and I have been married for 22 years and we are blessed with 5 children. Our oldest attends UMHB. We have 4 at home ranging in age from 17-10-year-old twins. My husband is a captain with the Waco Fire Department and we attend Fellowship Bible Church. We have had the privilege of homeschooling since our oldest was in PK, so 16 years, and have been a part of BVC for 14 of those years. I feel called to the PK classroom and absolutely treasure the relationships that I have made with my students and their families. My past students have made true impacts on my life, and I consider it an honor to spend a few hours a week with them!

PreK is the beginning of a lifetime of learning, and I believe that the best learning at this age is done through play learning- learning when they don’t even know they are learning! I teach from a biblical perspective, and we will read Bible stories, sing Bible songs...
