Class Description:
Let’s explore the world together through art! This exciting, hands-on class is designed to take your upper level student on an artistic and cultural journey around the globe. By combining both geography and art, students will learn about the tactile and visual inspirations of other cultures. We will explore and experiment with many different textures, techniques and mediums. Each month we will “visit” a new continent. While investigating the history, artistic styles, colors and senses surrounding these other cultures, we will re-create amazing art projects indigenous to the area. Students will work individually as well as collaboratively to mimic the processes in which some of the world’s most beautiful art is created. This is an engaging, colorful, craft-centered course sure to ignite any student’s creative spark. The only experience necessary is a desire to be inspired!
