Class Description:
Using America the Beautiful curriculum (part 1), we will cover 75 lessons beginning with life in America before Europeans came and continue through the first years after the Civil War.

Each Unit will include reading, thinking biblically, maps, and a lesson review to summarize what was learned. Most reading will be completed at home, along with the lesson reviews to facilitate comprehension while reading.

We will use class time to do some of the thinking biblically, study maps, do fun group projects, look at additional reading resources, and other fun activities to help bring it all alive! There will be unit tests administered as well to help prepare students for upper level classes.

Some of the in class projects will include:
– making an Iroquoian longhouse
– trying Navajo flatbread
– doing Colonial printwork/newspaper printing
– making Colonial marbles and bag
– making a Liberty Bell mosaic
