Class Description

Sewing is so much fun! In Sewing Machine Skills, students will develop and improve their sewing skills with a variety of projects, including pillows, scrunchies, stuffed animals, bags, pillowcases, decor, and more. We’ll work on straight and zigzag stitches, back-stitching, gathering, hemming, and adding embellishments. Students need to bring a sewing machine to class every week and be able to thread the machine and wind the bobbin independently.

Note: Students enrolling in Sewing Machine Skills are encouraged to attend a free preparation session over the summer. We will go over basic machine operations (threading and winding the bobbin in particular) so we can get right into sewing at co-op. Times and dates to be determined.
