Guided by literature study curriculum, this class will explore the elements of literature, author’s message, literary terms, comprehension and analysis, critical thinking, and writing style. Even if your daughter has already read these novels, our class discussions and assignments will greatly enhance her skills in literary analysis. This class will dive into the 19th century lives of girls in Little Women, Little House on the Prairie, Caddie Woodlawn, and Anne of Green Gables. The course content will be an excellent complement to studies in American History. In addition to literature and writing, topics covered include history, geography, and character formation. Students in this class should expect to complete a project, write a paper, and make a presentation. Two optional movie “parties” will be offered for students outside of class hours!
