This class will define and explore the importance of having a Biblical worldview. After establishing what a Biblical worldview is, we will contrast it with other major worldviews. We will cover the following topics: How can we trust the Bible? What is the central narrative of Scripture? Why is the gospel central to a Biblical worldview? Why does it matter that we are aware of our own personal worldview? What are the other major worldviews and how do they compare to Biblical Christianity? Students will take notes on the major topics and ideas discussed and will finish the year with a notebook full of what they have discussed and learned. There will not be exams in this discussion-based class, but there will be occasional review games to keep the information fresh in their memory. The goal is for the students to firmly grasp why they believe what they believe and to effectively give “a reason for the hope that is within them with gentleness and respect.”
