Class Description

We will travel through history and across the U.S.A. as we read excellent books that teach about extraordinary events! We will learn about the Louisiana Purchase with Meriwether Lewis, life on the frontier through “Cabin on Trouble Creek”, immigration from Mexico to California through “Esperanza Rising”, Jews living in New York City in the early 1900s and more. Assigned reading will be completed at home either independently, as a read aloud, or audio books. In class we will discuss the books and explore the literary elements, geography, culture, art, and history.
