Class Description

Public speaking does not have to be a nerve-wracking experience! In a safe, supportive, and FUN atmosphere, students will practice many presentations which will build confidence, improve communication skills, and enhance leadership skills. Students will perform recitations of historical literature and speeches, debate a hot topic, emulate great storytellers, and give their own original speeches… all while having fun!

Proper etiquette could be the weight that tips the scale to your child’s advantage when being considered for a scholarship or at a job interview! We will devote a portion of our time each week to practicing proper manners in making conversation, digital etiquette, being a host or a guest, RSVP’s, thank you notes, introductions, dining etiquette, and so much more. We will practice our manners while enjoying a Thanksgiving brunch, a Christmas breakfast, and we will culminate our etiquette studies with dinner at an exclusive five star restaurant at the end of the school year!

Thankfully, both public speaking and etiquette are skills that can be learned and practiced. This training will help your child put others at ease, feel good about themselves, and leave awkwardness and social fear behind them! They will leave the class polished and poised!

***This class will count as a credit for high school speech.***
