Class Description

This course teaches the art of reading and how to interpret a book. It teaches the principles of good reading by practicing these principles through guided readings in good books. The books for the course were chosen to reawaken our imagination, contribute to our knowledge of the building blocks of literature, and train us to read in the Christian literary tradition.

Please note that for this class, either reading the books or listening to audiobooks works just as well. It is only important to know the story.

In addition to the books above, we will be reading the myth of Orpheus, Hansel and Gretel, and the short story, “Rocking Horse Winner,” all of which will be provided in handouts by the teacher.
