The goal of Creative Writing Club is to foster a love of writing and give students a community to share their ideas within. This class is for beginners, experienced writers, or anywhere in between. I will teach about different elements and aspects of story writing, explore story genres, and students will have the opportunity to free write within that genre. Story writing games are to be expected as well!
The aim of this class is for students to develop their art of imagination and writing skills in a non-graded and non-threatening environment, alongside other young writers. They will also become brave and develop their public speaking skills when sharing their original written works of art!
Ann Rodman taught for 10 years as a high school teacher before staying home to school her own children. She has a degree in Child Development, a masters degree in Library Sciences, as well as Administration. She even earned honors of Teacher of the Year runner up in the state of Illinois during her tenure at Oswego High School. Ann is currently in her fifth year of teaching Elementary and Middle School Writing classes at a homeschool co-op and loves working with the children while helping them grow in their passion and enjoyment of writing.
As a homeschool mom, Ann is grateful for the opportunities she has throughout the day to speak God’s love and truth to her own kids. Deuteronomy 6:5-7 states "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
She sees it as an honor to be teaching children while sharing the truth of God’s love with them each year!
