This class is a survey of American history topics using the American Girl doll characters as a way to introduce various time periods, and as a springboard to understanding each era. We will focus on one character/era a month, covering Native America with Kaya (1764) to World War II with Molly (1944). We will learn about what life was like in each era by exploring how people dressed, what they ate, what was going on in their world, and other cultural topics such as music, science and art. Famous figures and important historical events will be highlighted. A class for boys and girls alike!
