NOTICE: Our new host church has a large, wonderful gym for us to have class. However, that gym is located across the street and one block from the main building where all other classes will be held. There are three streets that must be crossed in order to reach the gym. Two of those streets have virtually no traffic, while the other has a bit, though not much. Precautions will be taken to get your precious ones safely to the gym and back. Your kiddos are precious to me and their safety will be of the utmost importance. If you enroll your child in this PE class, you are giving permission for BVC to walk them across the street and back.
Fun is the name of the game! If someone finds something enjoyable, (s)he is more likely to continue that activity for life. Physical fitness is so very important for quality of life. Exercise promotes heart health, digestive health, mental health, emotional health, friendships, etc. In this class, we will play and experience traditional games, such as football, soccer, volleyball, etc. We will also learn the components of fitness: muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility, and how to incorporate each of the components in their daily lives. Knowledge of these components will help the students continue with their fitness as they leave our care. My hope is that they will fall in love with fitness and health.
