Class Description:  We will use the General Science curriculum from Apologia Educational Ministries.  This course is designed to be a student’s first systematic introduction to the sciences. The course covers such topics as the scientific method, designing experiments, simple machines, archaeology, geology, paleontology, biology, and human anatomy and physiology. Its scope, therefore, is quite wide. There are many hands-on experiments to do, and they all use household items.

Teacher Information:
I am a stay at home mom with 3 young children, ages 7, 5 & 3.  I have an Elementary Education degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and am certified to teach grades 1-8.  I have been working with children for over 10 years in either a school setting or church environment.  My husband, Shawn, is the children's pastor at Antioch Community Church and I volunteer alongside him. This will be my third year of teaching at Brazos Valley Co-Op.

Additional_Comments: The $35 supply fee includes all tests and most of the supplies for experiments. Because I have never taught this curriculum the supply fee is a guess as to how much experiments & classroom supplies will be.  In the event that I underestimated, students may be asked to bring items throughout the year for experiments.
