Class Description: Students will learn the basics of public and professional speaking, informative and persuasive speaking, research, and argumentation while learning the basics of competitive debate. Students will study and apply various current issues affecting us today (including the 2011-2012 National Forensics League debate topic) and participate in class tournaments throughout the year. In addition, we will survey the basics of competitive apologetics including topical studies from week to week. This class will count as one speech credit for high school graduation requirement.
Teacher Information: I am married and have one daughter. I am currently the Preschool Pastor at Antioch Community Church. I have a passion for kids, reading, and teaching and therefore look forward to this class. |
