Class Description: This class is designed to inspire the heart and mind of each child as we learn to develop the creativity that God has given each of us. Activities will rotate each week.
• Biographies: One of the great ways to stimulate motivation in the hearts of young people is to open their world to individuals who have brought about significant developments in the world in which we live. I will read aloud or portray the stories of these world changers and lead a discussion time reflecting on their impact to our world.
• Science Experiments: Experimenting with science is one of the most engaging and exciting ways to learn! We’ll use different class periods to do hands-on demonstrations that will teach engaging science principles. Experiments will include volcanoes, making ice cream, magnetism and much more.
• Creativity Days: We will learn to think creatively by a variety of means such as making up a story using a wordless book, doing creative writing in a journal, impromptu skits with props, and acting out our own puppet show.
• God’s World News: We will use God’s World News: Taking Off as our springboard to help students build a biblical worldview. Taking Off emphasizes News, Knowledge, Wisdom, and Action. For more information go to http://www.gwnews.com/takingoff.cfm
The goal of this class is to stimulate your student’s mind by listening to inspiring stories, learning about events in our world, expressing their thoughts in writing and group settings, as well as having fun through a lifetime of learning and developing creatively.
