Class Description:  This class is geared toward students who want to develop their drawing and painting skills and repertoire.  Students do not need to be a "Leonardo da Vinci" to enroll!  This class is designed to take a student at their current skill level, and through instruction and guided practice, help them develop God-given talent and abilities.  Students taking this class can receive a fine arts credit.  The fall semester will focus on drawing, learning different techniques in a variety of media, both dry and wet.  The spring semester will focus on painting, beginning with watercolor and progressing to acrylic on canvas.  Students will stretch their own canvas for the final project.  Approximately an hour or less of drawing/painting homework a week will be required with specific assignments.  Students will be graded on assignments, class participation, and completed projects, and a grade will be given for the fall and spring semesters, if the class is taken for credit. Students will be encouraged to enter work in the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo in the fall and the Art Guild of Central Texas contest and exhibit in the spring.  Students will have the opportunity to show work in a final exhibition, date and location to be announced.
