Mrs. Selke is a certified Phono-Graphix reading therapist. This hour would be dedicated to learning the Phono-Graphix method of reading, which improves fluency rate, phonographic awareness, and aides in reading comprehension.

Phono-Graphix is a sound approach to language that enables struggling readers to learn the inherent nature of the written code of our language. Research has proven its effectiveness for children of all ages that struggle with reading at grade level or have difficulty decifering the written code due to issues such as dyslexia.

This class is being offered at a discounted therapeutic rate as it will be taught in a classroom format versus individual instruction. Because of the classroom format, however, only a limited number of students will be able to enroll and the reading ability and level of maturity of students will be taken into consideration to provide an optimal learning environment.

Parental involvement is a must as students will be doing "homework" to promote better reading and to practice the methods taught in class. In fact, parental observation during class is encouraged on occasion and will be mandatory for the first few sessions of Co-op. In addition, mandatory parental reading will be assigned to better aide you in being an active participant in your child's therapy.
