Class Description:

This course is designed to be a student’s first systematic introduction to the sciences. The course covers such topics as the scientific method, designing experiments, simple machines, archaeology, geology, paleontology, biology, and human anatomy and physiology. Its scope, therefore, is quite broad. By completing this course successfully, students will have the knowledge and skills necessary to complete the more difficult high school science courses.

This will be a fun and exciting science class. Students will participate in a variety of learning experiences including hands-on activities, note-taking, labs and a few projects. Students should plan to spend 2.5 to 3 hours per week in preparation for class.
