This class is taught on a 2 year rotation.  Students enrolled this year will expand on their knowledge and new students will fit right in.  We do all different experiments and demonstrations.

Sciencewise is a class where hands-on group experiments, discussions, activities and creative challenges help children develop critical thinking skills through science.

We don't just "do" experiments.  We talk about what we think might happen first, then do the experiment, and then talk about why it happened.  Sometimes we have great discussions about what might happen if we change things in our experiment.  (Sounds like the scientific process: observe, predict, experiment, eliminate, conclude.)

Once a month we have "Creative Challenges."   The students are divided into groups and given a challenge.  Each group receives the same materials and a time limit.  At the end of the period we test our devices to see what each group built and see which groups meet the challenge.  These classes are always fun and exciting.
