Teacher: James Tippit Tuition: $160 per per year, payable in monthly installments of $20.00 Materials Fee (due at registration): $10.00 Deposit Due at Registration: $20.00 Grades: 9th-12th Minimum Class Size: 6 students Maximum Class Size: 20 students Class Time: 3rd (10:30-11:25) Required Materials: Bring your bible. I will provide the rest. (The supply fee covers all the copies.) In Thinking Straight In A Crooked World, we will be looking at Christian apologetics and contemporary issues that face Christians in a pluralistic and post-modern society. Emphasis will be given to formulating a Christian World view, and evaluating other competing world views in light of scripture and Christian theology. The class will consist mostly of discussion based upon the topic for the day. Each Student will receive this list at the beginning of class. Reading will be assigned the week before topic and consist of short articles and other information necessary to formulate an insightful opinion about the subject. Some of the sample topics include: World View Basics, Apologetic Strategies, Is Reason Reasonable? Magic, Mechanics or Miracles? Is God Dead? Grades will be based upon intelligent and thoughtful participation in discussion and engagement with the readings. I look forward to it! Teacher Information: Personal Information: I am 36 years old, married, (My wife Teri teaches the Performing Arts Appreciation), and have three kids. They are Dylan, 8, Darby 2 ½, and Addison 18 months. I am the Pastor at Harris Creek Baptist Church. I have been here almost 2 years. I enjoy reading theology and philosophy, riding my bicycle in preparation for a triathlon, and spending time with my family.
