I am so excited to be able to offer this Advanced Biology Class. My goal for the year is two-fold. First we will take a thorough look at the Human Body. This will be basically be an advanced high school version of Anatomy and Physiology. Second, I will be helping them to obtain skills to be successful at the college level. These skills include reading a text and taking notes, discussion, test-taking and responsibility. I have no doubt this will be an exciting class. If your student has any interest at all in the medical field and all the supporting fields, this class is a must. He/She will definitely be a step ahead of other incoming freshman with the foundation that this class will provide.

There is a lot of microscope/slide work this year. I have not been pleased with the quality of microscopes/ or slides available. My background is in microscope and lab work so I'm pretty picky. We will be viewing better quality slides via internet and projected slides so we can better see what we are studying. If there is interest, we may be able to visit the pathologists at Hillcrest and view some histological slides there.
