I'm checking on getting us a group discount on the textbook. I'd like to order around July 1. I'm excited to offer the Apologia Biology class again this year. This will be my 3rd year to teach this course. If you are new to Apologia, let me explain the difference. Apologia is written to the student. It is written in language that is very friendly to the non-science student, yet is interesting to the science buff. This may be your student’s first experience at a high school level class. Be assured that I will guide and encourage them thru the process. The first few weeks might be an adjustment. Your student will need to set aside time each day to work thru the material and the homework to come prepared for class. First, due to limits in class time, we will put our main focus on the subject matter to give a good foundation for further science study. Labs may be assigned to do at home /and or in groups. Any outside project will not require parental involvement or extra expense. As time allows, we will do some in class. There are some excellent internet sites that will aid in our learning including online dissection. Second, I will be helping them to obtain skills to be successful in high school as well as other life endeavors. These skills include reading a text and taking notes, discussion, test-taking and responsibility. I have no doubt this will be an exciting class. Teacher information:
