Materials Fee (due at registration): $20.00 Deposit Due at Registration: $30.00 Grades: 2nd -3rd Minimum Class Size: 8 students Maximum Class Size: 20 students Class Time: 3rd (10:30-11:25) Art II students will build upon the Foundations of Art I (or equivalent experience) by exploring more advanced concepts and honing their manual skills through practice in a variety of media: drawing, painting, collage, printmaking (not offered in Art I), clay and other three-dimensional media. Most projects will take 2-3 weeks to complete, which allow more opportunity for developing the work. Emphasis will be placed on gaining the skill which allows students to express his/her ideas in visual form. Teacher Information: Kate received a Bachelor's degree in Art History with a minor in Studio Art at Baylor University in 1994 and received a Master's degree in Arts Administration in Manhattan in 1999. She was privileged to study with one of the lead art educators in the nation through an internship at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has used the teaching methodology she learned to teach children from preschool through 8th grade from such diverse backgrounds as a housing project and a village in Haiti. After seven years of work at The Art Center of Waco as Director of Outreach Education, she began Art in the Park and contracts with various schools and organizations to teach art to children. |
